Welcome, Dr Kelly Hope!
On June 28, Dr. Kelly Hope joined CT State Capital as Associate Dean of Student Development.
Dr. Hope's Bio:
Kelly K. Hope is an educator, author, trainer, motivational speaker, and curator of Brave Spaces. She is a proud product of the New Haven Public School System and the owner of Kelly Koren Unlimited Education and Leadership Consulting Group. She is an adjunct faculty member at Southern CT State University and was most recently a high school teacher with the New Haven Public Schools.
Kelly has developed curriculum around African American and Latino Studies, facilitated workshops for the State of CT Education Resource Center on cultural humility in the classroom, was an invited speaker at Yale University, and was featured on WTNH Channel 8 for her work in education in the city of Waterbury.
In addition, Kelly has over 15 years of experience working in post-secondary education. Dr. Hope's academic journey is a testament to her commitment to education and personal growth. the Director of Student Life and Conduct, Director of Student Activities at Housatonic Community College, and Assistant to the Director of Housing and Residence Life at Southern CT State University. Outside of formal roles in education, She has also served as a member of the Southern CT State University Alumni Board of Directors and on the advisory committee to the State of Connecticut Public Act 19-12 Concerning the Inclusion of Black and Latino Studies in Public School Curriculum.
She earned a Master of Science in English Education from Southern Connecticut State University and a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership from Northeastern University.
She loves advocating for the traditionally marginalized and believes her life’s purpose is to help others reach their level of greatness!
